If you are a very matured applicant, a functional CV will take the spotlight away from your age. And if you are also changing the industry, a functional CV will help the recruiter focus on your transferable skill.
Disadvantages of a functional CV
Most employers do not really like this type of CV, they prefer to clearly see what the candidate has done. And it also raises questions around whether the candidate is trying to hide something.

The Combined CV
